If being more conscious of the environment is placed high on your list of New Year’s resolutions for 2021, but you also have a dream Maldives holiday featuring prominently, tie the two together and escape to Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi. The environment and sustainability is at the heart of our luxury resort’s operations and has been since its conception. Your stay in residence at Kudadoo will be tailored to your wishes, full of magnificent moments and yet tread lightly on the environment.
From the moment you set foot on our picturesque private island, you will be struck by the beauty surrounding you. The pristine beaches and sparkling lagoons existing in harmony with the naturally chic architecture built from sustainably sourced materials, and solar panels adorning the rooftop in a design masterpiece that powers the entire resort. The carbon dioxide emission saved so far (since December 2018) has been the equivalent of planting 10,224 trees!
It is well known that the planet’s oceans are in peril, and although here in the Maldives we are fortunate to be surrounded by healthy coral reef ecosystems, we are also aware of our responsibility to protect this fragile environment. We work very closely with Manta Trust and Olive Ridley Project, helping their research and conservation efforts with manta rays and sea turtles – listed respectively as ‘vulnerable’ and ‘endangered’. Ask your private butler to arrange snorkelling or scuba diving adventures so that you can truly appreciate the diversity of the ocean and meet these magnificent creatures. Upon return to Kudadoo, quench your thirst with water produced locally and served in a glass bottle and dine on locally caught seafood and organic vegetables before relaxing with your favourite cocktail sipped through a bamboo straw – because at Kudadoo we say no to the single-use plastics that threaten life in the ocean.
