At Kudadoo Maldives Private Island there are countless magnificent moments awaiting your stay, but one that will stay etched in your memory for years to come is a private trip with our marine biologist in search of one of the Maldives’ most iconic marine creatures, the manta ray.

The proximity of Kudadoo to the atoll’s manta hot spots – both feeding and cleaning stations – makes snorkelling or scuba diving with these gentle giants an obvious item to add to your itinerary. Have your private butler arrange a manta search excursion for you to experience spending time in the ocean with them. Accompanied by Aline or Lara, our marine biologists from Manta Trust and Prodivers, you will embark upon a magical adventure, searching for these incredible fish and snorkelling on reefs abundant with life. On the boat, you will learn all about manta ray ecology and how to responsibly interact with them in the water.

Once the thrill of spotting the mantas has been enjoyed, you can get involved in assisting the marine biologist in identifying them. Mantas are identified using the unique pattern of black spots on their underside, so far 378 mantas have been identified in Lhaviyani Atoll, and 5,000 in the Maldives. Take an underwater camera with you and you might get lucky and photograph a previously unknown individual manta, the ID photo can be submitted to Manta Trust and, if it hasn’t been seen before, you have the chance to name it!

This is how just one magnificent moment at Kudadoo could look, but you can join the Manta Search as often as you wish, as part of Kudadoo’s ‘Anything, Anytime, Anywhere‘ all-inclusive concept.
