We are pleased to introduce Akira Shiota, Cluster General Manager of Kudadoo Maldives Private Island and Hurawalhi Maldives. With over 28 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Akira brings expertise in guest services, team development, marketing, communications and operational excellence which has been honed during an impressive career in prestigious properties.
Akira began his career in the hotel sector as a bartender before progressing to Restaurant Manager when he joined Hilton Osaka. In the years that followed, Akira held F & B Director and Executive Assistant positions at St Regis Osaka, Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo and The Ritz Carlton. In 2019 he was appointed General Manager of Aman Kyoto. Before joining us in the Maldives, Akira was serving as General Manager at Amankila, Bali where he won the World Luxury Spa Awards and made notable contributions to sustainability planning – an important value at Kudadoo and Hurawalhi. Awards and recognition from Forbes, T&L, Condé Nast Traveller and Wine Spectator Magazines are amongst the accolades scooped by properties where Akira has been a driving force.
He is known for being hands-on, approachable, and committed to creating a culture of excellence, where every team member is empowered to contribute to success from day one.
On a personal level, Akira loves outdoor activities, drawing and painting, listening to music, and relaxing amidst nature.
